++ More Rumors

"The Herald-Citizen newspaper

A writer for the Channel 4 show 'Brass Eye' was stabbed at his home
yesterday. David Quantick, center to the controversy surrounding the show's
recent satirical approach towards paedophilia, was attacked by a group of
anti-paedophilia activists while leaving his Dover home with his wife and
children. Over fifty people had gathered directly outside of Mr Quantick's
home to make vocal their disgust with the recent program. The group
apparently became enraged when Mr Quantick demanded they vacate his
property. Eye witnesses reported seeing a smaller group of about a dozen men
charging the family. Both of Mr Quantick's daughters (aged 9 and 13)
received minor injuries after being pushed aside by the attackers, his wife
was unharmed. Mr Quanitck himself received four stab wounds to his chest;
paramedic reports placed him in critical condition at the scene, though he
was upgraded to stable after only one hour in hospital.
A member of the protesting group stated that 'There should be no love for
paedophiles or paedophile lovers'

The British Prime Minister, Mr Tony Blair, expressed disappointment and
surprise at the 'severity' of the attacks, while the British Culture
Secretary, Ms Tessa Jowell, stated that she 'understood the reasons behind
these actions ...but would urge people to reconsider the application of so
much force'

The British government and the Independent Television Commission have yet to
take official positions regarding accusations that the show violated British
television decency laws."

Of course, this was posted on the Something Awful forums, and I haven't seen
anything in the news, so I doubt its true, but did anyone hear a similar
story?
