I've been making good progress over the last few months, sort of building on
my own projects in my undeniably twatty but heart-in-the-right-place type
stupidity.
But they're making my brain capsize again.
The ITV news just went over the day's headlines in brief. During the small
amount of time it takes to say "incapacity benefit" they flashed footage of
a man reclining in a chair, drinking beer, watching the football. That is
just *brutally* prejudicial. Almost to the point of satire.
There's also considerable back-bencher unease about what they're thinking
about doing, but it was all presented as an all-round, undeniably fantastic
idea to get ill people out of the house. When they did interview someone it
was a complete feckless dreg whose opinion was "well, there's no work is
there?" "No work? There's plenty in town!" said the interviewer.
"Aye...well... but... it's a matter o' gettin' people to actually go in't
it?"
Thanks for the journalistic effort in finding the opposing view there: stand
outside Nettos and wait for a customer with a tattoo of a fucking swallow on
his neck and only 50% teeth.
It's so entirely fucking screwed I'm laughing hollowly at my typing
knuckles.

Oh, well thank goodness your unique brand of idiocy is back.
