I think people are being a bit overly cynical here. I think there are some
politicians that do genuinely want to make a positive difference to society;
certainly when they start their careers. It's the system that makes them jaded
then they have to become scheming double crossers to get up the ranks and by
the time they're near the top they've become seduced by power and greed that
they've forgotten their original vision.
Ken Livingstone gets my vote. He tells it like it is. He calls a spade a spade
and a Jew a Nazi.
