RE: [b] -- The Office - series 2

I thought they'd made it less accessible than the first series. They've
really ramped up the cringe-value, and the Brent character is becoming
more obviously unsavoury (it used to be less explicit - this was pretty
much a whole episode about his attempts to juggle being a confused
liberal bigot). Also, they seem to have pursued what they did with Tim
at the end of the last series - making basically the only sympathetic
male character, the one with which the audience are most likely to
identify, just as bad as the rest. This being BEMLi, something poncy
about rudderlessness should be inserted here. I'm not sure if the stuff
with Tim at the end has seen him change back. That would make for a
more comfortable viewing, but does make the stuff at the beginning of
this episode just a lame attempt to keep continuity, almost as if they
hadn't anticipated getting a second series with his turn to the dark
side.

So all in all, it's the difficult second album (although that's not what
the phrase means). Still made me laugh, though.
