speak is unrelated to Jeff Beck, with whom I am obviously acquainted (well,

And me. And, it would seem, a rather large proportion of the 
population  (since this thread started a couple of days back, I've asked 
several acquaintances and they all return blank stares). Of course, I have 
an excuse, being an old fart (by JW's and several others' standards). Or 
perhaps I'm just terminally unkewl (oops, wrong thread).
